Compliance Certifications/FRP Equipment Inspections
The inspection process on Fiberglass equipment is an activity that is much more than entering a tank and validating against a reference table. The typical process includes:
Documentation: Quality Program, Quality Manual and Approved Drawing.
Personnel: Assigned to QA Functions.
Materials- Review of Documentation and Storage.
Facilities. – Environmental Controls, Resin Testing, Tools, Equipment and Molds.
Inspections. – Tolerances, Corrosion Barrier, Structural wall, Documentation Verification, Thickness Verification, Location and orientation of accessories. Bottom Planarity, Correct Bolting in Nozzle.
Manufacturing and Installation. – Bottom, Cover, Cylinder, Accessories, Nozzles, Baffles, Trunions, Anchor Brackets and Seismic Cutting Key, Mixing Bridge (Bench).
Evidence. – Burn Test, Barcol Hardness, Acetone Test, Gelation Time,
QC documentation. – Final documentation is reviewed, as well as External Laboratory Tests to validate Tensile in accordance with ASTM D 3039. (When Applicable)
Final Manufacturing Inspection
Hydrostatic Test (or those agreed between Client and Supplier)
Post test inspection and shipment release.
At the end of the process and if the equipment meets the conditions established for the project, a Certificate of Compliance is signed by an FRP professional with experience in Equipment Design.
